Last spring, we moved into our first apartment. I had spent my entire life collecting and preparing for the day I would have a home of my own, gathering vintage and antique finds along with roadside treasures tucked away in closets since my university days.
As I gathered photos for this reflection, I found it fascinating to look back on how far we've come in just one year. I vividly recall feeling unexpectedly overwhelmed by the task of furnishing this apartment and transforming it into a cozy home for both of us. Moving in together meant blending styles and interests while striving to create warmth and comfort. Gradually, though, I believe we've achieved that, though it remains an ongoing process. Nearly a year later, I find myself swapping out items that didn't quite fit with new discoveries. Weekends are spent puttering around, repainting pieces, touching up corners, or making small changes.
The gradual accumulation of these cherished items is what makes this apartment feel like home. I know that one day, we'll look back at these images with awe at how we started our journey together. Our life here is simple, but it fits us perfectly at this moment in our lives.
The Beginning

Our bare living room, piecing things together slowly.
The Studio

I love the stain glass transoms in this apartment & was the reason we decided on this place.
The Living Room

The coziest room, constantly changing with the seasons.
