Autumn is the perfect season for tidying up and preparing everything for the winter months. I’ve been busy cleaning the garden and transplanting plants to our new space, along with some exciting additions like Hydrangeas, flocks and hostas from my moms garden!

My last bouquet from the garden this year, full of dahlias, zinnias and cosmos.
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of packing, moving, and unpacking. It’s surprising how many things I've accumulated—though I suppose I tend to collect more than most! I’m the kind of person who picks up items from the side of the road, seeing their potential. However, I've recently vowed to simplify my life, whatever that may mean for me. I’ve already given away quite a bit and plan to continue, embracing some autumn cleaning & organization along the way!
Our new apartment, before we moved everything in.
It’s amazing how you can outgrow a space. Our last apartment was so cozy and served us well, but we often felt restricted, especially when it came to entertaining. It just didn’t have enough room. In our new apartment, the layout is more open, and it is interesting to see how much our living habits have changed already. It’s much more inviting to gather around the dining table now that we can fit a full-sized one into the space! I have always believed that thoughtful interior design can truly enhance our way of living.
Our new apartment with all of our furniture in. I still need to switch out the old curtains in the art room.

The natural light in this apartment is lovely and creates such a positive atmosphere. I chose to keep the design light and airy, incorporating some of my antiques and framed art while mixing in pieces with more modern lines. Laurence loves the space, too—he can run from one end of the apartment to the other for his morning zoomies! Plus, there are plenty of windows for watching squirrels and birds all day long.
There are still a few more items we’d like to add, but overall, we’re thrilled with the space. It’s definitely a work in progress.
These past few weeks have been so busy, and I’ve struggled to find time for creativity. It’s strange; I really feel the absence of painting in my life. As a creative person, it’s tough when I am not able to express myself or find an outlet for everything that is going on. I have also noticed that after some time away from painting, I’m a bit scared to start again. But here I am, ready to dive in!

Got my painting apron on in my new studio, ready to paint.
What better way to spark my creativity than by painting flowers from my mom’s garden?
